Registration Facts

Pedigreed Appaloosas must have at least one ApHCC-registered parent sire or dam. The other parent may be registered with the ApHCC, or an ApHCC approved cross. Approved crosses consist of: Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC), American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), Jockey Club (Thoroughbred), or Arabian Horse Association (AHA) some restrictions may apply as they must be listed with the ApHCC.

Horses registered with the ApHCC are eligible for dual registration and vice versa for horses registered with the ApHC. Some restrictions may apply please reach out to the office to make sure your horse qualifies for dual registration!

  • Four current color photographs (front view, rear view, left side and right side) must be submitted with the registration application; and will be reproduced on the back of the horse’s Certificate.

  • Three name choices should be submitted with your application. Your Appaloosa’s registered name must comply with ApHCC rules.

  • A properly completed Registration Application/Breeder’s Certificate must be submitted to the ApHCC, including original signatures from the owner of the dam at the time of foaling, the owner of the dam at the time of breeding, and the owner of the sire at the time of breeding.

  • A Stallion Breeding Report must be file with the ApHCC.
